Water Cooler Troubleshooting
If you need assistance with your cooler please contact our office at 486-3300 so we can give simple instruction on what process to take in order to get your cooler back up and running properly.
Here are some simple steps you may want to try prior to contacting our office.
- If your cooler is not flowing from either side – Unplug cooler from outlet. Your cooler maybe frozen. If your thermostat is set high this is very likely to happen. Let cooler set unplug from approximately 2 hours. If this does not work please contact our office.
- If cooler is not getting cold or hot – Check your plug to make sure it is plugged into the outlet. If it is plugged into the outlet try another small appliance in the same outlet to see if the outlet is working properly.
- If cold side is not cold enough – For colder water, adjust the screw on the thermostat clockwise. The thermostat is located at the rear of the cooler. When looking at the back of the cooler you will see a silver metal box with a screw located in the middle of it. To adjust the thermostat, turn the screw counter clockwise until the screw clicks or will not go any further. Then turn the screw clockwise about ½ a turn. Give your cooler about 1 hour to make the water colder. If you would like the water colder you may turn the screw further clockwise. If the thermostat is set to high your cooler may freeze.
- Cooler is leaking – Remove bottle and contact our office.
Cooler Cleaning Procedure
To sanitize cooler a solution can be made by adding 1 tablespoon of Clorox to 1 gallon of water. Do not use a stronger sanitizing solution. Wash cooling tank and baffle (plastic piece inside reservoir) in solution. Do not allow solution to remain in cooling tank for more than ten minutes. Dispense the solution through cold spigot (and room temp spigot if equipped.) Fill cold tank with water an run it through spigot (repeat a couple times) remove plug from hot tank inlet hole. Rinse water through hot tank spigot and through hot tank drain. For cleaning outside of cooler do not use abrasive cleansers. Use a soft detergent (dish soap) and warm water. Do not use any solvents on cooler. Aloha Water Company offers this service for $45 (includes pickup and delivery of a loaner if the cooler was originally purchased from us.). If you are renting the unit the charge is $25.
- Aloha Water recommends that you sanitize the cooler at least once a year.
- Maintaining and sanitizing a rental cooler or purchased cooler is the responsibility of the lessee of the cooler.
